GENE Global Education Youth Award
GENE is the network of Ministries and Agencies with national responsibility for Global Education in European countries. It brings together Ministries, Agencies and other bodies that develop national policy and provide funding for Global Education in European countries.
Through the Global Education Youth Award 2024, GENE highlighted outstanding youth-led and youth-focused Global Education initiatives from across Europe. The award recognises high-quality practices that inspire others and contribute to peer learning among policymakers, practitioners, and the wider public. Their publication showcases initiatives that demonstrate excellence in youth work and Global Education and promote positive change by empowering young people to critically reflect on the world and their role within it. They encourage young people to open their eyes, hearts, and minds to global realities at both local and international levels, and to act for social and climate justice, peace, solidarity, equity, equality, planetary sustainability, and international understanding. GENE also emphasises the importance of peer learning and collaboration, and highly values the involvement of ministries, agencies, and civil society organisations in this fifth edition of the award.
We are so proud that our project, Europe on track 10 was selected as one of the awardees of the GENE Global Education Youth Award 2024. This recognition affirms our commitment to meaningful Global Education and youth engagement, and motivates us to continue empowering young people to reflect, connect, and take action for a more just and sustainable world.
