Europe on Track 12
Europe on Track 12 (EOT12) was the twelveth edition of AEGEE’s youth-led European flagship project, focused on eco-anxiety and its impact on young people across Europe. As the climate crisis intensifies, many young Europeans experience overwhelming feelings of fear, helplessness, and distress about environmental degradation and an uncertain future. However, eco-anxiety doesn’t have to lead to paralysis – it can become a catalyst for meaningful action, which is exactly what Europe on Track 12 decided to explore.
The main focus was how young people can channel eco-anxiety into collective climate action and civic engagement. The project examined the psychological and social dimensions of climate concern, while highlighting the power of community organising, youth-led initiatives, and cross-border collaboration in responding to the climate emergency. Participants of workshops discovered how to transform individual anxiety into collective resilience, creating spaces where young people can connect, support each other, and mobilise for systemic change. The project culminated in a set of policy recommendations that reflect the collective input of hundreds of young people, calling for more inclusive, accessible, and representative approaches to youth policy across Europe.
